History of the BAAS
The British Association for the Advancement of Science (recently rebranded as the BA and then the BSA) was founded in 1831. Historical information about the BA / BSA / BAAS is given by the BSA, including a list of books for further reading.
Proceedings of the BAAS have been digitised by the Natural History Museum and are freely available through the Biodiversity Heritage Library. See also BAAS Online at the University of Glamorgan.
On this page we simply list the meetings and their locations from the very first meeting of the BAAS in 1831 to the present day BSA. Starting with the Bradford meeting in 2011, we will create a short account of what happened at past meetings in each city we visit.
